I’m continuing to toil away, one day at a time, on my upcoming book, The Business Anarchist.

Here’s a little snippet from the chapter initially titled, “The Business Anarchist’s Marketing System.”

Direct Mail (postcards, letters, etc.). I’ve yet to find a more affordable, measurable, reliable way to put patients in chairs, put students in classes, dentists into memberships and other marketing programs, fill seminar rooms and ultimately putting money in the bank than proper execution of direct mail. Some say it’s expensive. Problem is, they just don’t know how to use it. If you’re not experienced in the use of direct mail, you need to buy books and teach yourself. The other option, go to seminars and LEARN. And still another, get on every direct mail marketer’s list you can think of…no, not email lists, but direct mail. See what people are mailing, when, how, why, if you get the same pieces repeatedly (that means either the mailer is stupid or the piece is really, really good and bringing in money). Also, when you see an effective piece – if you feel compelled to take your wallet out and put money into the product or service, study the piece and ask yourself, “Why is this such a good piece?”
