Tumblr & Other Micro-blogs
The world of blogging is complex; something I’m still working on understanding.
Rest assured, if you rely on traffic of almost any kind on the internet or you wish to stay relevant and informative (and informed since blogs are two-way streets of communication if you choose), blogging is a virtual necessity.
There are a lot of free ways you can start your own blog. I recommend WordPress.com (or .org is you’re more techno-sophisticated).
I use Tumblr.com and was just introduced to that thanks to @dentalmarketing on twitter, James Erickson (http://www/EMCDental.com).
Tumblr is a micro-blog, or what I consider to be one.
Here’s the cool thing though: I’ve got Tumblr set up so that anything I post there will be posted to Twitter (follow-me on Twitter by clicking the ‘t’ icon at the top right), which in turn is posted on Facebook – sort of a one-place catch-all to keep things updated and rolling.
If you have a website, if you rely on leads from the internet to fuel your biz, these are a couple places you can plug in and get going.
Oh, couple of things:
1) James has a course, Twitter for Dentists, and at one point, he was giving it away free. You can learn more at http://www.TwitterForDentists.com.
2) This blog is powered by WordPress. The functionality is unmatched.
Thanks a lot for sharing !
